Rodeo Dreams

Rodeo Dreams is a cinematic portrait of one of the most dangerous sports on earth—bull riding. This feature documentary follows four young Australian riders as they travel across Queensland’s Gulf Country, competing in a series of remote outback rodeos in pursuit of glory at Mount Isa, the richest and most prestigious rodeo in the country. Filmed over three years, Rodeo Dreams is a high-stakes, coming-of-age story that captures the grit, determination, and rural pride of young athletes chasing life-changing opportunities— cash prizes, U.S. college scholarships, and contracts on the professional bull-riding circuit. The film is being produced by an experienced documentary team and will be crafted with respect for participants, communities, and workplaces. Participation in the documentary celebrates cowboys’ personal journeys and also shines a light on the resilience and vibrancy of regional Australia.
